Your family is in our prayers. As we watch Will's funeral and procession, seeing what I would guess to be thousands of people and other first responders that came to show their respect for him, gives testament to the man he was. In his ultimate sacrifice, his dedication and character is what is uniting the people of not only the city of Auburn, but of the State, and the Country. May GOD place his healing hands on your hearts and grant you peace in Will's passing, as I am sure beyond doubt he is with GOD now.

Betsy Logan5/23/2019

I am so very, very sorry for your family's loss. This senseless act of violence is so disturbing and I know very hard for your family to deal with. I thank you and Officer Buechner for all you have done to protect our community. Being a police officer's wife and family has to be one of the hardest things to do. Seeing them leave everyday to protect people who you don't even know sometimes doesn't make sense. What a great sacrifice you and Officer Buechner have made for the city of Auburn. My nephew is a fire fighter in Washington D.C and I worry every day he goes to work. I still can't imagine the pain you are feeling right now. I hope that you can find comfort during this most difficult time, share the memories you have of him with others and keep his memory alive. Also know that God is a god of comfort and will comfort us in all our trials (2 Corinthians 1:3,4). He also provides comfort in the hope that we will see our loved ones again by means of the resurrection (John 11:25). I know it may not be much comfort now in the beginning stages of your grief but hope that it will eventually. I know I am not alone in wanting to express my deepest sympathy to your whole family. I know one of your next door neighbors and I was so impressed to see all the blue lights on the neighbors porches when I was over there yesterday. We are all grieving with you and pray that you find comfort as you continue to go on and raise your beautiful children.

Officer Andrew Vickers5/23/2019

I want to express my deepest sympathies to your family as well as to the Auburn PD and community, for the loss of such a wonderful man that gave so much. Our police officers are the heroes that put their lives on the line every day to keep the citizens and community safe; and they don't do it for the praise and certainly not for the money, but because they want to serve and make the world a better place. Will is at peace now, he served us well. Thank you to our law enforcement officers everywhere.
