Mr. Black was born March 25, 1923 to H.G. and Rosa Lee Black. He is survived by his wife Alene, five sons, Andrew Lamar Jr. of Waverly, Gary (Jennie) Black of Auburn, Joel (Ellen) Black of Waverly, Jeff (Amy) Black of Hartselle, Scott (Rachael) Black of Auburn, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sister, Nell Moore; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members. Mr. Black proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II (1942-1945). He retired from Auburn University after 37 years of service with the fisheries department. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. The family requests in lieu of flowers send donations to the charity of your choice.
