Beverly Brown Thompson, of Salem, Alabama was born in Alexander City, Alabama on October 16, 1954 and passed away April 22, 2016 at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital. She graduated from Chambers Academy of Lafayette, Alabama in 1972 as Valedictorian. She went on to work at East Alabama Paving for several years until 1982 when she and her husband bought their first dump truck. Since then, they have dedicated their lives to building their successful business, Thompson Carriers Inc, where shes known as the "Boss Lady." When she wasnt working, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren who were the light of her life. She loved to take them on adventures and spoiled them to make them as happy as they could be. Beverly was an amazing cook who loved cooking for her family. She was such an awesome person who always conveyed love and understanding. She could make friends with anyone, never meeting a person who didnt love her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Eugene Brown, Sr. and Dorothy Gilbert Brown Slaughter; sons, Thomas Christopher Welch, and Bradley Byron Welch. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, John Willie Thompson II; sons, John Willie (Trey) Thompson III, and wife Tamara, and Jace Brannon Thompson, and wife Katelyn; grandchildren, Makenzie Welch, Tucker, Trent, and William Thompson; siblings, Deborah and her husband Don Jurgensten, Jane Allen, Susan Brown, Marvin E. Brown, Jr. and wife Lisa, and Julianne Slaughter; nieces and nephews, Katy Svoboda, Josh Jurgensen, Luke Jergensen, Hank Allen, Marvin E. Brown III, Tara Brown, Tatum Brown, Alex Slaughter, Jude Slaughter, and Emersyn Slaughter. Visitation will be held at Restoration Church on Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour. Funeral service will be held Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Restoration Church at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at Garden Hills Cemetery. Restoration Church: 950 Shelton Mill Road, Auburn, Alabama. Visitation will be held at Restoration Church on Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
