Carlton Frank (Buddy) Long a life-long resident of Beauregard passed away on June 13, 2016 at the age of 81. Carlton was born on October 6, 1934 to the late Reedy and Alma Long. He was a Korean War Veteran, and retired from the Opelika Postal Service after 25 plus years of service. He is best known for Longs Vegetable Farm, his pick-your-own vegetable farm as well as his syrup mill, Odom Creek. Carlton is survived by his wife Eula Kathleen Holt Long; son, Mike Long (Sherri) and grandson and best friend Michael Long (Kayla Thrower), as well as step-children, Wayne Stringfellow, Tammy Noles (Tim), Betty LaPlante, Judy Ruddock (Farrell), George Hall; 28 step-grand children, and great-grand children, including Crystal Fontes who was helping with his care of late; brother, Larry Long; sisters, June Sistrunk, Betty Jewel Plagge, Shirley Myrick (Elmer), Janeta Cornett, and Diane Whitaker, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins, sharing very special places in his heart. Along with his parents Carlton is preceded in death by his first wife Peggy McConnell Long; brothers, Reedy, Lamar, Wayne and Phillip (Buck) Long; sisters, Dorothy Long and Jimmie Clyde Kasulka. Visitation will be held in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor David Waldrup officiating. Interment will follow at Pierce Chapel. Visitation will be held in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m.
