Clella Smith Ballentine of Opelika, Alabama was born July 3, 1931 and passed away at her home on July 27, 2016. She was 85 years old.
Born in Reeltown, Alabama, she graduated from Eclectic High School after moving to Tallassee, Alabama. She then moved to Opelika after marriage. She enjoyed a 44 year marriage to her beloved husband "Mutt". Prior to their retirement they owned and operated Opelikas first Volkswagen repair shop. Upon retirement they traveled around the country in an RV, and participated in a CB Radio Club.
She is preceded in death by her husband Milton "Mutt" Ballentine; parents Forrest and Elizabeth Smith; brothers Sebron Smith and Gaines Smith.
She is survived by her only daughter Elizabeth Dianne Ballentine; granddaughter Eva Hammock Shears and her husband Adam, as well as two nieces: Donna Smith Raburn and Linda Smith-McCrory, and three nephews: Michael Smith, Leon Smith, and Kenneth Smith.
Visitation will be held in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home on Sunday, July 31, 2016 from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m.
