Sonny Paschal, 70, was born on March 14, 1943 in Opelika and passed away on February 2, 2014 at his home. Mr. Paschal was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the DAV, and the American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam where he became a Specialist 4 (T). He is survived by his parents, Earnest C. Paschal, Sr. and Lillian Paschal; his daughters, Amanda Paschal and Rachel Paschal; his sons, Mike Paschal and Cliff Paschal(Alice); his grandchildren, Sabrina Paschal, Cody Paschal, Brie Holmes, and Andrew Paschal; his brother, Terry Paschal(Linda); a special uncle, Billy Freeman (Sharon); and several nieces, nephews, and other family members. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Hopewell United Methodist Church with Rev. Billy Homer Clark officiating. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lee County, Alabama. The visitation will be held in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 4, 2014.
