Edward Buckner, age 78 of Opelika, was born in Tupelo, MS on October 11, 1934, and he passed away on January 22, 2013. He was a long-time resident of Lee County, Alabama, and a retired mechanic who loved race car driving. Mr. Buckner was a very loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Mr. Buckner is survived by his children, Linda (James) Thomas, Ronald Buckner, Susie Coshatt, Terry Buckner, JoAnn (Junior) Childs, Johnny Buckner, Brandi Buckner and Timothy Buckner ; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren; and a special friend, Donna Grainger. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home, with Pastor Loren Sutton officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Hills Cemetery.
