Gaines Michael Huckeba, Sr., age 52 of Opelika, was born in West Palm Beach, Florida on July 11, 1961 and passed away at Bethany House in Auburn on June 29, 2014. He was a Master Painter and jack-of-all-trades. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gaines H. Huckeba and Betty Daniel Huckeba; and his brother, Terry Lee Huckeba. He is survived by his wife, Beth Huckeba; sons, Gaines Michael Huckeba, Jr. (fianc, Elizabeth Haywood) and Joshua Wayne Huckeba; sisters, Darlene Ozley of LaGrange, GA and Wanda Gail Spratlin of Dadeville, AL; granddaughter, Harley Rose Huckeba; grandsons, Nathan and Nicholas Booth and Hunter Daniel; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home, with Brother Nicholas Hatcher officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
