Mrs. Hazel R. Colley, 95, of Opelika, was born on August 13, 1918, to the late Seab and Jewel Rhodes, and passed away on April 12, 2014 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Homer F. Colley. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who focused her life on her family. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Opelika, which she truly loved. She was the co-owner with her husband, Homer, of A & O Rents for 44 years. She is survived by her sons, Steve Colley (Sharon) and Mike Colley (Angie); her grandchildren, Heather Colley, and Scott Colley (Jessica); and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to her caregivers; Demetria Jenkins, Dorothy Jones, and Laura Driver. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Frederick Dean Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Scoggins officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Hills Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the visitation on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church of Opelika.
