Glenn Brackin, age 78 of Auburn, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2014 at EAMC in Opelika following a brief illness. Mr. Brackin was born in Dothan, Alabama on December 31, 1935 to Rachael M. and Herbert Glenn Brackin. Mr. Brackin graduated from Dothan High School, Dothan Alabama in 1954 and subsequently graduated from Auburn University in 1962 obtaining a degree in Industrial Engineering. After college, Mr. Brackin spent most of his life working for Auburn University Educational Television. He retired from the University after 35 years of service. Mr. Brackin was a people person. He loved his community, his friends, and his family. He was a long time member of the Auburn United Methodist Church and sang in the Jubilee and Chancel Choir. He also enjoyed fishing at Lake Martin and spending time with his family. Mr. Brackin is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Patricia Lane Brackin; two sons, Mike Brackin (Lynn), Jeff Brackin (Hope) both of Auburn Alabama and daughter Lindi Rucker (Mike) of Powder Springs, Georgia; sister Dianne Brackin of Marietta Georgia; six grandchildren; Tim Brackin ( Kacey), Kellie King, Taylor Brackin, Thomas Brackin, Jordan Rucker, and Benjamin Brackin and one Great-Grandson, Davis King.
