Huey Don Ponder, of Opelika, Alabama was born in Louisiana on August 30, 1937, and passed away at his home on March 12, 2016. He was 78 years old. Mr. Ponder proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years. He also worked for Ampex where he would retire as an Engineer. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Brenda Ponder; daughters, Malissa Lang (Thomas), Barbara McAnally (Joey), Misty Silven (Benjamin); grandchildren, Thomas Lang, Jr. (Anna), Jeffery Lang, Joshua McAnally, Anna McAnally, and Austin Tapley, and one great grandchild, Jamison Lang; two brothers, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and family members. Graveside Service will be held at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Rusty Sowell officiating.
