A much-loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, James A. Anderson, 87, of Opelika, Alabama died July 5, 2013. He was born September 7, 1925 in Elyria, Ohio, the oldest of 4 children. Jim served as First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army in WWII and Korea. Jim was a Mason. After a 25-year career at Ampex, Jim started a successful business, J&L Locksmith, where he worked until age 82. Jim was preceded in death by his son, Bert Stephen Anderson; his sister, Wanda Anderson Wolf; and his parents, Bert and Lula Anderson. Jim is survived by his wife of 67 years, LaMerle; a son, Bill Anderson and his wife, Lynn of Houston, Texas; daughter, Nan Cooper and her husband Curtis of Black Mountain, North Carolina; 5 grandchildren, David and Andy Norrell, Laura Edwards and Stephen and Beth Anderson; 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Roy Anderson and his wife, Elsie of Wadsworth, Ohio and Bob Anderson and his wife, Evelyn of Akron, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
