Janet Clanton Smith, age 59, of Auburn, Alabama was born on November 19, 1954 in Opelika, Alabama, and died on January 6, 2014 at East Alabama Medical Center. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, companion, and best friend to all she met. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her daughters, Erin Smith and Allison (Darren) Smith Till; her parents, Jack and Rudene Clanton; her sister, Reita Clanton; her brother, Dennis Clanton (Kathy); her sister, Suzanne (Rusty) Baker; a grandson, Jack Till; loving companion, Mike Freeman; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
