John W. Wilder of Beauregard was born in Covington County, Alabama on April 21, 1935 and passed away at his home on June 7, 2016. He was 81 years old. Paw-Paw John enjoyed the last few days of his life in fellowship with his family. He was a Church Member of Providence Baptist Church. He was son to the late Henry Burpee Wilder and Ina Lou Adams Wilder of Andalusia, Alabama. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Annette Gunter Wilder; son, Kenneth Wilder (Carol); daughters, Tammie Mary (Paul), Lelia Gilmer (Matt); grandchildren, Mallory Conway (Basil), Jacob Wilder (Meg), Paul Mary, V, Laura Lea Gilmer, Christopher Wilder, Jing Zhang (Yiming); great grandchildren, Basil "Fife" Manley Conway, V, Matthew Rutledge Conway, Jackson Thomas Wilder, Skyler Gilmer Zhao; brother, Cecil Wilder; niece, Cindy Prince (Curtis), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members. Visitation will be Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Providence Baptist Church West Campus from 10:00 a.m. until 11:50 a.m. Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Providence Baptist Church West Campus at 12:00 noon with Dr. Rusty Sowell officiating. Interment will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to thank their church family at Providence for their love, support, and prayers, during this difficult time.
