Martha Jeanette White was born on October 15, 1937, in Lee County, Alabama and went to be with her LORD at her home on January 10, 2016. She was 78 years old.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She had been fighting cancer since 1989 and was known by all as a valiant warrior in her battle. She retired from M. Snower Manufacturing after 33 years of service. She was known by all as an avid Auburn fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Alberta Story, her first husband, Thomas Hugh Griggs, her second husband, William T. White, her brothers, Lynward and Charles Story, her step-son, John White, and her grandson, Hugh Ryan Griggs.
She is survived by her son, David Griggs (Linda); her step-daughter, Ann Brown (Carl); her sisters, Betty Jean Norrell (Edward) and Linda Baker (Stanley); numerous grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home Wednesday, January 13, 2016, from noon until 1:15 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016, in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. with Bro. Joe Yearwood officiating. Interment will follow at Garden Hills Cemetery.
