Marvin Calvin Cox, Jr. of Opelika was born in Lafayette, Alabama on June 7, 1928 and passed away in Tallassee, Alabama on August 8, 2020. He was 92 years old. Marvin served in the Army from 1950 until 1952. He was a retiree from Hardees. Marvin was a family man who knew how to save a dollar! He loved ice cream, peanut butter and chocolate cake. He was a man of few words but plenty of wisdom, he will be missed! He was preceded in death by his daughter, Anna Marie Garner; son, Marvin C. Cox, III; step-daughter, Deborah Shaw, and step-son, Wiley King. He is survived by his step-son, Danny King; grandchildren, Charity Shaw, Joseph Fannin, Jr., Chad Cox, James Fannin, Crystal Fannin Lawson, Joshua Fannin, Christopher Cox, John Shaw, Amy Wiley, Lori Keellett, Rebecca Hogan, Terry Woodall and many great grandchildren. Graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Garden Hills Cemetery.
