Michael Herbert Broadwater, 62, of Opelika, passed away at Bethany House on January 17, 2015. Mr. Broadwater was born March 19, 1952 and lived all his life in the Beauregard community. He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed working in his yard, watching Auburn football, visiting with friends, and playing with his dogs and grand-dogs. Michael was the son of the late Herbert and Mittie Broadwater of Opelika. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Charlotte Cason and Brother Daniel Broadwater, both of Opelika. Michael is survived by his wife Ann and two children Dixie and Wayne, all of Opelika; his brother Tim Broadwater; several aunts and uncles; numerous nieces and nephews; and many great friends. The family will receive friends in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. The graveside services will be held at Garden Hills at a date and time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorials made to the Alzheimer's Association or Bethany House will be appreciated. Frederick-Dean funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
