Rubidia "Ruby" S. Bates, age 67 of Auburn, was born in San Pedro Nonualco, El Salvador on June 17, 1946. She passed away in Auburn on July 29, 2013. She was a member of Auburn Fellowship. She was the daughter of the late Luciana and Francisco Sanchez. Mrs. Bates was a devoted daughter, loving mother, faithful Christian, and virtuous wife. She was preceded in death by an infant child and her son-in-law, Chris Kjeldsen. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Winsley W. Bates, III; daughters, Cynthia Bates Kjeldsen and Lucy Bates Hebert and husband Coby; four grandchildren, Hannah Kjeldsen, Alexis Hebert, Christian Kjeldsen, and Joseph Hebert; brother, Emilio Sanchez and wife Elizabeth. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Auburn Fellowship, with Pastor Matt Wicks officiating. Interment will follow in Loachapoka Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home.
