Vivian Mae Morse Johnson, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barnett (Barney) Johnson, her parents Annie Simmons Morse and John Morse, her brothers Henry, Charles, Clarence, John, and Woodrow, and sister Mamie Morse Suggs. Vivian was a loving and outgoing mother and friend. She was loved by many and known by many names, Vivian, Viv, Mrs. Barney, Mrs. J., Mimi, and Mother. She is survived by her daughters Patricia Johnson Evans (Ed) of Auburn, and Joy Johnson Burnett (Jerry) of South Boston, Virginia, grandchildren Laure Evans Christie (Stephen), Jeffrey Johnson Evans (Shannon), Robert Barnett Jones (Tanya), Julie Johnson Jones, Shana Burnett Snyder (Steve), Jay Burnett (Jenny), twelve great grandchildren (who were perfect in her eyes) and her beloved grand dog Charley. She is also survived by several nieces and cousins.
Mimi, as she was affectionately known by many, loved life and people. She worked for many years with her husband in Barneys Cub Caf---where most of the customers knew her as Mrs. Barney. After he passed away, she enjoyed square dancing with her long time friend Bill Whelchel. She had young friends and not so young friends, and spent many hours listening to and visiting with her friends.
Her last six years were spent at Morningside Assisted Living where she was loved by all. A special thanks goes to the staff at Morningside and to her loving friends and caretakers Beverly (Bell) Morgan, Rosalyn Pitts, Tammy Sistrunk, and Ethel Harris.
