Obituary

Wendell L. Sandlin born January 5, 1945 in Hartselle, Alabama. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Southeastern Glassblowers Society, the American Glassblower Society, and the VFW. He retired from Auburn University following many years of work in scientific glass blowing. He was preceded in death by his father L. J. Sandlin; mother Margaret Thelma Sandlin, and sister Shelby J. McHan all of Hartselle. He is survived by his wife Patricia F. Sandlin of Opelika; daughter Leigh S. Wallace of Acworth, Georgia; sons Tommy R. Sandlin of Hartselle, Alabama, and Jonathan M. Sandlin of Opelika, Alabama; and sister Brenda S Culp, of Hartselle, Alabama; and 7 Grandchildren: Nick, Katlyn, Charles, Blaze, Daniel, Cassidy, and Jordan. Pallbearers will be Nick Sandlin, Charles Sandlin, Blaze Wallace, Daniel Sandlin, Johnny McGuire and Brian Lambert. Visitation will be held in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 1:00 until 2:15 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. with Reverend Earl Ballard officiating. Interment will follow at Garden Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 1:00 until 2:15 p.m.
