W. Reid Young, age 92 of Opelika, was born on October 17, 1920 in Lee County and passed away on June 4, 2013 at Arbor Springs. He was a member of the Opelika Church of God. He was a delivery man for Dairyland Farms Creamery and retired from Auburn University. Mr. Young was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lillie Young; sister, Thelma Young Garrett; wife and mother of his children, Evelyn Smoot Young; daughter, Patricia Ann Quinlan; and late wife, Martha Merritt Young. He is survived by his sons, Gary and Craig Young; grandchildren, Amber Krantz-Neal and Devon Jarrod Young; great grandchildren; Grace and Jerrod Neal; brothers, Robert William Young (Alma) and L. Gene Young (Avis); sister, Lenora Gladys White and other family members. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home with Brother Charley Bolt officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Hills Cemetery.
