Ann R. Cherry, age 88 of Opelika, was born in Lee County on June 8, 1926 and passed away at Arbor Springs in Opelika on December 15, 2014. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Altha Lee and Kimbrough Walters Herring. Mrs. Cherry was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Lee Cherry; three sisters, Helen Hinson Wise, Mavis Chaffin, and Betty Jean Wright; two brothers, Lester Herring and Ray Herring, Sr.; and first husband and father of her children, John F. Davis, Sr. She is survived by her son, Johnny Davis (Sara); daughter, Jan Roller (Tom); son, Daniel "Boone" Davis (Vickie); grandchildren, Chris Davis, Jason Davis, Rod Roller (Melissa), Allison Pouncey (Mike), and Leslie Smith (Glenn); great grandchildren, John Thomas and Lacey Roller, Zachary and Bradley Pouncey, and Evie Smith; and two sisters, Wylene Bush and Gloria Thompson.
