Avis Knox Davis 1930-2022 Avis Knox Davis of Opelika was born in Tallapoosa County on December 2, 1930 and passed away at Arbor Springs on March 21, 2022. She was 91 years old. Avis was of the Methodist Faith, she was very active in the Women's Auxiliary of American Legion Post 152, having served in the several positions including Alabama State President. She was a also a member of BPW (Business Professional Womens.) She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe D. Knox; second husband, Fred R. Davis. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Knox Walker (Benjie); grandchildren, Whitney Walker Stippler (Gabe), and Clay Walker (Ashton); great grandsons, Knox Walker and Silas Stippler. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 24, 2022 in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home from 9:15 until 10:00 a.m. Graveside service will be held Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. CDT at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Charity of your choice.
