Barbara Lane Beals 1941-2022 Barbara Lane Beals of Salem, AL. died at her residence on July 10, 2022. Barbara was born in Langdale, AL on January 13, 1941. She was the daughter to Carl and Alverde Lane. She was a graduate of Handley High School in Roanoke. She completed the Nursing program at Caraway Hospital in Birmingham, and then completed her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing at the University of Alabama in 1963. She met her future husband and moved to Birmingham. She became a mother to Carl and Rebecca. In 1979, Barbara and her children moved to Auburn. She worked at the Orthopedic Clinic until she retired in 2009. She was a devoted mother, nurse and friend. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and all that she knew. She loved to attend any Auburn sporting event. She received the Exchange Club Book of Golden Deeds Award. She did for others with a jovial and selfless heart. She was an active member of Auburn United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son, Carl Beals (Jessie); daughter Rebecca Beals (Lee); Grandchildren Ayrin, Elizabeth, Isabella and Thomas; brother, Wyatt Lane (Phyllis); Nephew Jim Lane (Ann), as well as several cousins. The family will receive friends and visitors on July 18, 2022 at Fredrick Dean Funeral Home from 10:00 until 10:50 a.m. CST. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Frederick Dean at 11:00 a.m. A Graveside service will be held at Lanes Chapel in Roanoke AL at 2:00 CST. In lieu of flower the family asks that you consider donations to Lee County Humane Society, REACH program at Auburn United Methodist Church, or the EAMC Foundation.
