Barbara Holley Hamby

Barbara Holley Hamby was born August 17, 1940 in Lee County, AL, passed away August 10, 2026.

She was hard working all her life, she worked at West Point Pepperell Stevens until they closed the plant down. She worked at Sams and the Bowling Alley in Auburn. Barbara was well liked by everyone she worked with and she always had gifts for everyone. She loved bowling, crocheting, and visiting family in the Smokey Mountains. She attended MOT Church in Opelika.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Lois Holley; sister, Gloria Long and her brother, Billy Holley.

She is survived by her children; Angie Hill (Connie), Jim Godfrey (Lynn); grandchildren, Matthew Godfrey (Jennifer), Amber Godfrey (Josh), Nathan Godfrey; great-grandchildren, Skyler Godfrey, Chelsea Godfrey, Aubrey Godfrey; step great-grandchildren, Kelsie Majors, Kade Harris and Memphis Harris along with numerous cousins.

A Celebration Of Life will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. at Mount of Transfiguration in Opelika.
