Bette Ann (Moore) Vaughan 1929-2021 Bette Ann (Moore) Vaughan was born November 20, 1929 in Birmingham, Alabama and passed away after a short illness at the age of 91. Bette Ann was preceded in death by her parents, George Anderson and Minnie H. Moore; 3 brothers, John Robert Moore, Paul H. Moore and William H. Moore; a daughter and son-in-law, Anne V. and James K. Norman. She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, James Douglas Vaughan; two daughters, Nancy V. Myers (Tom) of Durham, NC, and Joy V. Bowles of Auburn; 5 grandchildren, David E. Norman of Auburn, Andrew T. Myers of Berkley, CA, Anna E. Myers of Durham, NC, Jared A. Bowles (Sarah) of Columbus, GA, and Carly B. Marken (Michael) of Phenix City, AL; and 1 great grandchild, Archer A. Bowles of Columbus, GA. Bette Ann moved to Auburn, Alabama at 3 months old where she grew up and became a lifelong, die hard Auburn fan. She was an avid bridge player, excellent seamstress and the heart and strength of her family. Bette Ann lived fully and wore many "hats". Known as "Nannie" to her dad and brothers, "Bette Ann" to her peers and contemporaries, "Momma" to her three girls and "MaMa" to her grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held for family and close friends at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home on Saturday, May 1 at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Opelika or St. Jude Children's Hospital. "Her children arise and call her blessed, her husband also and he praises her."
