Obituary

Betty Pierce, of Cynthiana, Kentucky was born on April 10, 1953 in the Lee County Hospital in Opelika, Alabama and passed away surrounded by the love of family. Her husband, Sam and her daughter and son-in-law, Toni Hill and Ryan Ashley on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky at the age of 63. Betty lived most of her life in Auburn and Opelika, Alabama until 2015 when she and her husband, Sam moved to Sams home town-Cynthiana, Kentucky. Betty loved and was devoted to her family and friends. She graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Business Administration. She worked in Opelika at Ampex Corporation and served as a Deputy Registrar at the Lee County Courthouse. While living in Auburn, Betty had a big part in Sams political career as she and Sam spent many long hours going from house talking to people on Sams behalf. Sam was a Lee County, Commissioner. Betty was preceded in death by her father, Jack Brantley, Sr. mother, Ellen Pate; step father, George Pate, and her grandparents. Betty is survived by her sister Mary (Tony) Eder; brother, Jack (Nancy) Brantley; brother, Richard (Jeanne) Brantley, and her sister, Lisa (David) Tomlinson. Visitation will be held in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. CDT. Funeral service will be held Sunday, April 17, 2016 in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. CDT with Reverend Libba Stinson officiating. Interment will follow at Auburn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. CDT.
