Betty J. Sheppard of Opelika was born to Shirley Gene and Morrell Taylor Huey on July 16, 1955 and died on January 12, 2019 at Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama. She was 63 years old. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Morrell Taylor Huey. She worked for Auburn University Small Animal Clinic as the Referral Coordinator for 32 years. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Roy Sheppard; Father, Shirley Gene Huey; daughters, Cassie Sheppard and Nicole Sheppard; son, James Sheppard; grandchildren, Jacob Sheppard, Jordan Sheppard, Addison Sheppard, Tristan Hart, Katelyn Hart and Makayla Sheppard; sisters, Linda Ledbetter( Mike), and Sarah Huey Vann( David); brother, Jeff Huey (Lora); sister-in-law, Yvonne Capps (Danny); brothers-in-law, Melton Sheppard( Gina), Willie Sheppard( Linda) and Tony Sheppard( Cindy); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Jarod Horne officiating. Interment will follow at Garden Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home.
