Betty Jean Whatley

1941 - 2022

Betty Jean Whatley was born on July 1, 1941 and passed away on December 1, 2022. She was 81 years old.

Betty is survived by her daughter Rebecca Rice (John) of Opelika, grandson Joshua Perkins, brother Melvin Holt of Opelika, brother and sister-in-law Jack and Sarah Pope of Midland, GA and brother-in-law Wayne Talton. Nieces and nephews, Jim, Jeanie, Mary Jane, Wendy, Billy, Charles, Allen, as well as numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and other family members.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband John Ed Whatley, sister Barbara Downing(Calvin), sister Shirley Phillips(James) and sister-in-laws Betty Talton and Myrtle Holt.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the Holt Family Cemetery from 1:30-2:00 pm.

Graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at the Holt Family Cemetery with Reverend Keith Badowski officiating.
