Billie Marie Crannell, age 59 of Notasulga, was born September 13, 1952 in Phenix City, Alabama and died June 13, 2012 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. She was the daughter of the late William B. Argo and Hattie M. Murphy. Mrs. Crannell is survived by her spouse, Steven E. Crannell; son, Richard David Conkle and wife Heather; daughters, Amy Elizabeth Chism and husband Eric, and Amanda Joy Parmelee and husband Richard; and grandchildren, Hanson Conkle, Jason Conkle, Meghan Conkle, Riley Chism, and Jackson Parmelee. Mrs. Crannell began her 39 year nursing career upon graduation from St. Margaret's Nursing School in Montgomery. She received her Doctorate from Auburn University. She was a Registered Nurse at EAMC, most recently serving as Director of Professional Practice and Development. Mrs. Crannell's hobbies included sewing, embroidery, gardening, and dancing.
