Carolee Sommers

1954 - 2022

Carolee Sommers of Opelika, AL was born in Chicago, IL in Cook County on July 13, 1954 and passed away peacefully at East Alabama Medical Center on September 2, 2022 at the age of 68.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She also served her country in the United States Army. Carolee enjoyed genealogy research and working on her family history.

She was preceded in death by her father, Hiley Hiram Ward. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Robert W. Sommers; sisters Dianne, Marci, and Laurel; and her mother Charlotte Ward.

Visitation will be held in the parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (510 Groce St. Opelika, AL 36801) on September 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.; with a burial to follow at Fort Mitchell Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. CDT with Bishop Curtis Hansen will be officiating.
