Cathryn Faye Carter, age 90 of Opelika, was born on June 3, 1923 and passed away on January 6, 2014 at her home. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were her life. She also enjoyed spending time with her beloved pets. She was retired from the Opelika City Schools and also worked for many years at Lee Manor Healthcare. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles P. Carter. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Young (Johnny); granddaughter, Amy Cathryn Wingard; grandson, Charles Richard Wingard; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Brandi Whitley and Miranda Johnson, who were thought of as family. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
