Sergeant First Class (Ret.) James Guy Smith, 92, was born August 19, 1921 in Chambers County, Alabama and passed away on April 21, 2014. SFC Smith was a US Army veteran with over 30 years of service to his country, including WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents Obediah and Frances Smith; wife Resa Smith; and his son, Jimmy Smith. He is survived by his granddaughters, Gretchen Hayes (Garfield), Stacy Taylor, India Griffin (Butch); great-granddaughters, Alexys Hayes and Harley Atkinson; great-grandsons, C.J. Dennis, Jesse Dennis, SPC 4, and Tyler Atkinson; and special granddaughter Daisy Mae Smith.
