Daniel Hart May 1940-2022 Daniel Hart May of Auburn, Alabama was born on May 26, 1940 in Macon County, Alabama and passed away East Alabama Medical Center on January 27, 2022 in Opelika, Alabama. He was 81 years old. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Lizzie Nell May and George T. May, Jr.; brothers, Thomas F. May, George T. May, III; sister, Elizabeth Louise Richards. He was a United States Army Veteran as well as a loving and devoted husband and father. Daniel is survived by his wife, Arlene N. May; daughters, Sandy M. Evans, Carolyn M. Ford, and Debbie M. Hobberchalk (Scott); grandchildren, Daniel J. May, Christina J. Belcher (Jacob), Brandon D. Gatlin (Ashley), Adam Gatlin, Matthew T. Evans (Brittney), Debra "Nikki" Day; 7 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members. Memorial service will be held at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home Monday, January 31, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.
