David Roy Childers, age 42 of Opelika, Alabama, was born on November 2, 1971 in Opelika and passed away on July 26, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. He attended the Auburn City Schools system from the 1st grade to the 10th grade. He moved to Guin, Alabama and graduated from Marion County High School in 1991.
David is survived by his father, Harvie Childers of Opelika; mother, Janis Randolph of Guin; brother, Josh Childers of Birmingham, Alabama; son, Tanner Childers of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; uncle, Franklin Childers of Dadeville, Alabama; aunt, June Whatley (Rex) of Opelika; aunt, Sara Webb of Jasper, Alabama; aunt, Joan Webb of Guin; aunt, Gwyneth Jones (Don) of Guin; uncle, Larry Webb of Guin; and many cousins and other family members.
David always lived his life to its fullest. He will be best remembered for his quick wit and eternal sense of humor, as well as his deep abiding love for his family, friends, and all things Auburn. He is so loved and greatly missed and cherished in our hearts forever. There are no words for how special you were and how much about life you taught us.
