David Lee Smiddy of Salem, Alabama was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee on February 16, 1958 and passed away at his home in Salem on January 2, 2017. He was 58 years old. He was preceded in death by his mother Jackie Smiddy Melton. He is survived by his wife of 17 years Mary Smiddy; daughters Shawn Cheri Smiddy (Chris Lanham), Dawn Ann Hensley, Kaila Jean Coker (Terry Coker); 10 grandchildren Megan Rae, Bonnie Faye, Christopher Lloyd, Justin Blaine, Victoria, Andrew Blake, David Brodie, Gabriel Dale, Terry Louis, and Patricia Ann; one great granddaughter Brylee Rae; parents James Smiddy (Faye); five sisters Susie, Dee, Niki, Amanda, and Janice; one brother Glenn, as well as several nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. CST.
