In Loving Memory of Deborah Gail Simmons Dennard
It is with profound sadness and love that we announce the passing of Deborah Gail Simmons Dennard, who entered her heavenly home on May 3, 2026, at 4:36 p.m., surrounded by her loving family and the comforting sounds of her favorite singer, Elvis Presley.
Deborah was born on August 22, 1949, in Butler, Georgia, to Virginia R. Moore Simmons and Clyde D. Simmons, both of Marion County, Georgia. She was a loving daughter, devoted wife, caring mother, cherished grandmother, treasured great-grandmother, and loyal friend.
Deborah dedicated many years of her life to nursing, a profession she deeply loved. Caring for others came naturally to her, and she touched countless lives through her compassion, kindness, and selfless heart. Whether caring for patients, family members, friends, or strangers, Deborah always put others before herself.
Family was the greatest joy of her life. She was a devoted mother to her three children: Melissa K. Browning, Kristie M. Browning, and Michael Keith Batts. She was also a proud grandmother to Ashley Browning, Amber Smith, Brittany Myhand, and Bethany Sinclair, and a loving great-grandmother to eight precious great-grandchildren who brought endless joy to her life.
Deborah loved making memories with her family. When her children were young, she enjoyed taking them on vacations and adventures, creating moments they will cherish forever. She had a special love for animals, especially her beloved dog, Mask, who was a faithful companion and brought her much happiness.
After being diagnosed with cancer, Deborah faced her illness with remarkable strength and courage. Though her health declined, she remained surrounded by the love of her family until her final moments.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia R. Moore Simmons and Clyde D. Simmons; her beloved husband, Michael Wayne Dennard; her brother; and other loved ones who welcomed her into Heaven. We find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with those she dearly missed and is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.
Those who knew Deborah will remember her for her caring spirit, loving heart, gentle nature, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she loved so deeply.
Mom, your love was a gift that will remain with us forever. We will miss your voice, your laughter, your strength, and your comforting presence. Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for every memory and every moment we were blessed to share with you. Please watch over us until the day we meet again.
A graveside service celebrating Deborah's life will be held on June 12, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.
Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
