Dennis "Denny" Reese

8/13/1943 – 10/4/2023

Denny Reese passed away peacefully on October 4, 2023, at the age of 80, in Opelika, Alabama. He was born August 13, 1943, in Ohio, to Robert and Lillian (Benroth) Reese. Denny graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in chemistry, and received his MBA from University of Dayton. He was an avid tennis player, and also enjoyed playing golf, reading and watching football. His real enjoyment came from helping people; if he saw a need he stepped in and did it.

Denny is survived by his wife Jo Ann of 40 years, daughters Sonya (Lance) Younker and Pamela Davis, granddaughters Cortney (Shandon) North, Jessica (Nick) Ciza, Caselia (Dustin) Thompson, Mariesa Davis and Rebecca Davis, great-grandchildren Asher, Elena and Amelia, a brother Thomas Reese, a sister Barbara (Emmis) Pratt, several nieces and nephews, and beloved dog Castle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother William Reese, a daughter Michele Bearden Nelson, mother-in-law Louise Walley Harris, four brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.
