Donald "Ronnie" W. Anderson, age 69 of Opelika, was born on February 15, 1944 and passed away on May 18, 2013 at East Alabama Medical Center. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion, served 10 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a Vietnam Veteran. He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Louise Galloway, his wife, Martha Ann Anderson, and his sister, Sandra Knowles. He is survived by his children, Catherine Hall (Mike Folds), Donnie Anderson (Leesa), Kim Fawley (Roy), and Tammy Anderson Stephens; sisters, Lynn Sanders and Beverly Weldon; brothers, James Wheat and Reggie Wheat; companion of 10 years, Linda Smith; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; as well as many other family members. The family requests that Alabama football attire be worn to the funeral service, as Mr. Anderson was an avid Alabama football fan…ROLL TIDE! Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home from 5 until 7 p.m.
