Donald (Don) Gentry 07/08/1948 – 11/09/2022

Don Gentry passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, November 9, 2022, in Auburn, AL.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Gentry and father, Calvin Gentry; mother-in-law, Odelle Hudson, and father-in-law, Frank Hudson; brother, Cecil Gentry; brothers-in-law, Lloyd Hudson, Charles Pope; sister-in-law, Linda Gentry.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marjorie Gentry; son, Daks (Wendy) Gentry; daughter, Heather (Dean) Sansom; brother, Ed Gentry; sisters-in-law, Olivia Pope, Gwen Hudson, Jeanie Gentry. Grandchildren, Tryston Gentry, Zack Sansom, and Kimberly (Matt) Berry; and a niece and 3 nephews.

Don was born in Forrest City, Arkansas, entered the Navy in 1969 and was honorably discharged in 1973. He moved to Auburn, AL, to attended Auburn University where he received two bachelor degrees, one in 1975, another in 1990.

Don owned and operated Gentry & Ware Motor Company from May 1, 1989 until July 1, 2014 when he retired.

Visitation with the family will be held Monday, November 14, 2022, at Frederick Dean Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 am central time. A funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 11:00 am with Robert Spratlin officiating.
