Donald Cleveland Ray
1953- 2023
Donald Cleveland Ray, age 69, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior in his home Sunday, April 30, 2023.
Donald was born November 11, 1953 in Opelika, Alabama to James Cleveland "JC" (Father) and Nellie (Mother) Ray. Donald was a member of The United States National Guard then later, received his Masters and Journeyman Electricians Degree from Auburn University at Montgomery. Donald was the proud owner and operator of D.Ray Electrical Company since 1995. Donald was a man of integrity, hard work, faith, joy, and love. To know him was to love him - he never passed up a stranger, telling a joke, or the dessert table. He loved life. The simple things about it the most - his wife, children, grandchildren, and most of all, Jesus Christ. He always wore a big grin, but that was nothing compared to the size of the man's heart. Truly special and extremely missed, is what Donald Ray is.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Judy Ann Ray; (Evans) middle son, Jeremiah Cleveland Ray (Mallorie); youngest daughter, Casey Ray Ledbetter (Trey) - with four precious grandchildren, a new granddaughter and his first great grandson on the way - making six children total.
Grandson, Michael Ray (Kayleigh), expecting great grandson, Brooks in July 2023. Granddaughter, Khloe Grace Ledbetter(6). Granddaughter, Mary Evans Ray(3). Granddaughter, Callaway (Callie) Ann Ledbetter (10mo).
Donald is preceded in death by his parents, JC and Nellie Ray; Brothers, Clyde and Winfield Ray, and his oldest son, Phillip Ray.
They all share an abundance of love and memories. Donald touched many lives during his time here on earth - His walk with the Lord is well deserved.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Donald touched are invited to Frederick-Dean Funeral Home at 1801 Frederick Rd Suite A, Opelika, AL 36801 for Visitation on Monday May 08, 2023 from 11:30am - 12:30pm. Funeral will follow at 1:00pm, with Pastor Billy Short (Brother in Law) ministering.
