Elizabeth Spates Aldridge was born January 24, 1928 to the late Verbie Carter and Wilbur Spates, and passed away on June 3, 2017 at Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama. She was 89 Years old. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Rev. Gene Aldridge; her sons, James Marion Aldridge and Gene Morrell Aldridge; her sisters, Sarah Burford, Ann Riddle and Gaynell Deavers; and her brothers, Foreman Spates and Scottie Spates. Mrs. Aldridge is survived by her daughter, Cissy Carmichael; daughter-in-law, Deanna Aldridge Grimes; brothers, Larcus Spates (Judy) and Sam Spates (Cheryl); sister-in-law, Connie Spates; brother-in-law, Jimmy Aldridge (Dean); six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; faithful friends, Roy and Pat Jenkins and Wayne and Joanne Seller; and numerous other family members. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Grantham officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm.
