Eva Julia Halsey Scott was born on June 9, 1931 in Chambers County. She passed away on September 17, 2013 at Arbor Springs in Opelika, Alabama. She was 82 years old. Her parents were the late James W. Halsey and Mary Eva Halsey. Mrs. Scott was married to Marvin L Scott until his passing in 1995. Mrs. Scott worked as a secretary at Auburn University before joining her husband in his insurance business. She was a member at Shady Grove Christian Church. She is survived by three sons, Steven Mark Scott (Melissa), Alan Dennis Scott (Vicki), and Richard Clay Scott; a sister Laverne Owens, and 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 19, 2013 at 1 PM in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home, with Pastor Will Sexton officiating. Interment will follow at Garden Hills Cemetery, Opelika Alabama. Visitation will take place at 12 noon until the funeral hour in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home.
