George Little McCrory

1958-2022

George Little McCrory passed away peacefully on July 3, 2022 at the age of 64. He was the son of Noah and Mary Lee McCrory and he grew up on 9th Street in Opelika. George was a true character! He lived his life the way he wanted. He was a Deadhead and a music lover his whole life. He spent his last years living in Notasulga, AL and riding his bike to and from Auburn and Opelika. His trips to Opelika usually included a stop at Hal Smith's Store to pick up some liquid refreshment. He was a great basketball player who loved playing into his 40s and 50s. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two older sisters, Anne McCrory and Marsha Pope. He is survived by his brother, Marcus, who misses hearing his raspy, hoarse voice on cell phone message. He truly enjoyed his life and he loved his friends. We will miss him! There will be a celebration of life to remember George from 2 pm to 3 pm on Friday, February 10 at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home in Opelika.
