Mrs. Hillyer was born in Lee County, Alabama on April 16, 1920, and died at Bethany House on Sunday, September 16, 2012. The family mourns the loss of a godly, loving mother but celebrates her arrival into her heavenly home. Her husband of 66 years, Nelson Hillyer, and her daughter, Cecelia Hillyer Dozier, preceded her in death. Mrs. Hillyer is survived by her son, Ronald W. (Ann) Hillyer; son-in-law, William A. Dozier Jr.; grandchildren, William A. III (Kristy) Dozier, Catherine (Tracy) Dozier-Donald, Rosalind (Jason) Dover, Kristen (Aaron) Allen, and Matthew (Annslee) Hillyer; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Martha (Luther) Nale; brother, Charles (Carolyn) Broadwater; sisters-in-law, Mittie Mae and Mary Broadwater, Frances Hillyer, Colon Ennis, Ouida (George) Kelton, and Macie Gardner; brother-in-law, James Morrison; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Oak Park Nursing Home for the last eight and one half years of excellent care.
