Harvie Roy Childers was born on January 12,1946 to Willis Harvie Childers & Celia Marie
Mangham in Opelika, al. Harvie received his education at auburn city schools & then
finished at auburn university with an accounting degree. Harvie worked as a CPA for
many years in the Auburn/Opelika area.
His interests included playing golf with his friends & family, as well as being a score
keeper on the LPGA tour. Harvie possessed an appreciation for the outdoors. which
included walking, gardening & lawn care.
Harvie's love for Auburn sports was more than just a pastime; it was a way of life.
Whether he was at the games or watching from home, his loyalty to Auburn never
wavered.
Harvie was preceded in death by his brother Jerry Lamar Childers, father Willis
Harvie Childers, mother Celia Marie Childers, sister Nadine Byrd, & son David Roy
Childers.
Harvie is survived by his son Joshua Dale Childers, his brother Willis Franklin
Childers, & grandson Tanner David Ryan, as well as nieces & nephews.
A visitation will be Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 9:00am - 11:00am at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home in the Parlor followed by a Graveside service at 11:30am at Town Creek Cemetery. Pastor Clint Capps will officiate.
Frederick-Dean Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
