Helen "Nanny" Edwards Dunson, age 89, was born in Opelika on August 24, 1925 and passed away in Auburn at Oak Park on October 13, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur W. and Rosa Edwards; husband of 70 years, Jasper Dunson; daughter, Linda Cooper; one grandson; four brothers; and four sisters. She is survived by her sons, Ronald Dunson (Peggy) of Opelika and Truman Dunson of Auburn; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home, with Rev. Lisa Dunson Stenner officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Oak Park Activities Department or Hospice Advantage.
