Helen Oxford Jones of Waverly, Alabama was born to the late Winfred and Pearl Oxford on November 2, 1938 and passed away at Bethany House on January 31, 2017. She was 78 years old. Helen enjoyed making quilts, canning, planting roses, and feeding the birds, especially her hummingbirds. Mrs. Jones took to heart her relationship with God, and devotion to her faith. She loved the Lord and read her Bible daily. The love she gave as a mother, grandmother, and aunt stays with us. She cherished her time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffery Ellis Jones; son, Phillip Raines. She is survived by son, Jonathan Jones (Jill); daughter, Julie Sosebee (Roy, Jr.); daughter-in-law, Geneva Raines; grandchildren, Zandra Raines, Roy Sosebee III (Kayla), Sara Sosebee, Jacy Findley, Morgan Jones; great grandson, Hunter Findley; brother, Morgan Oxford, and sister Sadie Clark (Harold). Visitation will be held in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary at Trinity United Methodist Church with Reverend Earl Ballard officiating. Interment will follow at Alabama Memorial Gardens, Dadeville, Alabama. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Bethany House, Auburn, Alabama, or Alzheimer's Association at (www.alz.org) in Helen Oxford Jones memory.
