James Russell Chambliss, "Baby Jake," 5 month old son of Rebecca Chambliss, went to be with Our Lord on Saturday, August 16th, after a very brief and tragic illness. Jake was a miracle, born 13 weeks early on March 14, 2014, in Montgomery, Alabama, weighing just 1lb 9oz and measuring 12 inches long. He stayed 76 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Baptist Medical Center East. The family would like to thank the staff at Baptist Medical Center NICU and Dr. Scott Parma for the incredible care provided to Baby Jake and the entire family.
Baby Jake laughed and smiled throughout his 5 months here on Earth, bringing joy and happiness to everyone he met. He touched many lives and was loved deeply by family and friends. He has changed our lives forever and will never be forgotten.
In addition to his mother, Rebecca Chambliss of Montgomery, Baby Jake is survived by his grandparents, Pete & Brenda Chambliss of Auburn; aunt Erin Chambliss Tanner (Hayden) of Pelham; aunt Haley Chambliss of Auburn; great grandparents Harold & Sara Bozeman of Montgomery; and many great aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends who loved Baby Jake very much.
In lieu of flowers, and at Rebeccas request, please make donations in Baby Jakes honor to Baptist Medical Center East NICU (mail checks to Baptist East NICU, P.O. Box 241647, Montgomery, AL 36124, with Jake Chambliss in memo line) or Footprints Ministry (www.nicufootprints.org). "For this child we prayed." 1 Samuel 1:27
