Funeral services for Mr. James T. Madden Jr., 89, of Opelika, AL will be held at 11 AM on Friday 28 March 2025 at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home with Reverend Kevin Acre officiating. Burial will follow at Garden Hills Cemetery.

Visitation for Mr. Madden will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday 27 March 2025 at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home in Opelika, AL.

Mr. Madden was born on 3 September 1935 in Rock Mills, AL to James T Madden and Ruby Nell Boggs Madden.

Mr. Madden met his first love Shirley Fay Waites Madden in Macon, GA and they were happily married for over 50 years before her death in 2009. After his loss he met his last soulmate, Ms. Nancy Elder of Opelika AL in 2024.

Mr. Madden was preceded in death by his parents, James T. Madden and Ruby Nell Boggs Madden, two sisters Betty Ann Madden Null and Sandra Annette Madden Avooske.

Mr. Madden is survived by his brother Winfred Arnold Madden, sister Martha Jo Madden

Hubbard all of Opelika, AL and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frederick-Dean Funeral Home is assisting the family with all arrangements.
